How to read these answers

These answers summarise how PropertyIT works: what we do, what it costs, how we handle security, privacy and vendors, and what happens if you decide to leave. If your question is not here, call (604) 632-4959 or email info@SAZ.ca and a senior consultant will answer it.

Prices are starting-from figures in Canadian dollars before 5% GST. Service targets are objectives, not guarantees. Anything involving legal interpretation, such as the BC Strata Property Act or privacy statutes, should be confirmed with your own counsel.

Frequently asked questions

What is PropertyIT?

PropertyIT is an IT services and consulting brand for property management companies, strata managers, commercial landlords, REITs, building owners, facilities teams, developers and PropTech vendors. It is a sub-brand of SAZ.ca and Sedighi.ca, led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, with more than 17 years of delivery since 2007.

Are you a reseller or an installer?

We are an IT services and consulting firm. We design, specify, oversee and operate building technology, and we can procure equipment when you need it, but our recommendations follow the building and not a manufacturer's margin. Physical installation is performed by vetted local technicians under our scope and documentation.

What does PropertyIT cost?

Managed IT starts from $89 to $199 per user per month, building projects from $2,500, vCIO retainers from $1,500 per month and security assessments from $1,900. A 10% launch discount applies to new engagements and 5% GST is added.

Is there a long-term contract?

No lock-in. After onboarding, agreements run month to month. You own your drawings, configurations, credentials and data, so you can change providers without losing the record of your own buildings.

Which property software do you support?

We support Yardi, Buildium, AppFolio and Condo Control environments, including user roles, integrations, reports and migrations. We work alongside the vendors' own support teams and escalate on your behalf.

Can you work with our existing access-control and camera vendors?

Yes. We routinely work with existing installers and platforms. We audit what is in place, harden it, document it and set up logged remote access for the vendor so that support continues without a permanent hole in the network.

How do you handle camera footage and privacy law?

We help configure purposes, retention periods, access rights, export logging and signage in line with BC PIPA and PIPEDA expectations. We are not a law firm, so we recommend your counsel for legal interpretation while making sure the systems enforce the policies you adopt.

Do you work with strata corporations?

Yes. Our Strata Council Technology service provides a shared records library, a dedicated mailbox, retention schedules prepared with your lawyer or manager, secure voting and meeting tools where bylaws permit, and a handover pack for each new council.

Where do you work?

We serve all of Canada, with British Columbia as our primary focus. Most work is delivered remotely from Vancouver, with local technicians coordinated for cabling, cameras and access-control installation.

How quickly can you start?

Most engagements begin within two to three weeks of a signed scope. Urgent faults, such as a failed network core or offline access controller, can be handled sooner under an emergency scope.

What happens during an outage?

Managed infrastructure is monitored around the clock. Our priority response target is 15 minutes, with escalation to a senior engineer and a written incident summary afterwards. Targets are objectives backed by process, not guarantees.

Do you support portfolios with many sites?

Yes. We standardise designs by building size, monitor every site centrally, back up configurations and report availability by property. New acquisitions follow an onboarding runbook so they join the baseline quickly.

Can you help before we buy a building?

Yes. A technology due-diligence review, run alongside the physical inspection, covers systems, contracts, security posture and data transfer, and gives you a first-year remediation estimate.

Do you provide energy and analytics work?

We provide the data side: collecting meter, BAS and sensor data, building dashboards and alerts, and verifying savings after retrofits. We do not replace your mechanical engineers or energy auditors.

Do you use AI?

We help property teams adopt it safely: policy, approved tools, pilots and training. Our own work keeps a person responsible for every external communication and every number relied upon.
